Satron Ke Sitaarein – Edition XV
Friends, let’s recapitulate our Physics Lessons learned in high school.
- What is a Lighthouse?
- A lighthouse is a tower, building, or other type of structure designed to emit light from a system of lamps and lenses and used as a navigational aid for maritime pilots at sea or on inland waterways and can also assist in aerial navigation.
Under the guidance of our dynamic Chairman, our Non FTE Project conveners launched on World Grand Parents Day, Project Lighthouse at Nabanir Old Age Home. In today’s world, ‘Time is Money’. To donate money is easy but to take out your precious time is difficult. The focus of this project is to spend some time personally with people who are lonely, not so privileged or belonging to the weaker sections of the society.
We seventeeners with our honorary tablers and square legs are the light houses and through our knowledge and skills we need to emit the light of happiness, motivation and encouragement far and wide. The lighthouses do not just end with our table, but on this Inauguration Day itself has been extended to our area and our country with dignitaries from our National Board and Area IV pledging to be a lighthouse to support the cause of the project. It will be a dream come true when we will have lighthouses illuminating each and every corner of this world.
The program started with introduction of Round Table India by our National Secretary Tr. Neeraj Banka and Area IV Chairman Tr. Manish Shah. There was music, songs and dance which was actively participated by the elderly people and the Tablers, Circlers and Twinklers, followed by lunch. It was a small effort from our Round Table family to bring smiles on those wrinkled faces, shining bright with eternal happiness. The inauguration witnessed active participation from the entire 17 family, extending to many tables in Kolkata and Jhadsugda. The blessings we received from our grandparents was unmatched indeed. I am sure it filled each and every soul present there with eternal bliss, serenity and happiness.
